After a Heifetz International Music Institute “Celebrity Series“ concert was interrupted by a broken string on “Pablo,“ the prized 1717 cello that belonged to Pablo Casals and is now in the hands of cellist Amit Peled, faculty violinist Ilya Kaler jumped up and provided an impropmtu - and amazing - performance of the “Recitativo und Scherzo“ by Fritz Kreisler, to the delight of the audience in Francis Auditorium at Mary Baldwin College!
