A quick, special, pre birthday ride with friends at Mariposa Fat Bike Trails. Why fat bikes? With a fat bike you are not limited on the tire width. You can run up to 5 inch wide tires. And any size wheel below that if you wanted ~ 27.5 , 29 , 26, etc. Fat bikes are like monster trucks, the Jeep’s of the bike world. They can go anywhere and are unlimited compared to our skinny tire bikes. You can ride through all four seasons and all surface types on the same bike. With minimal trail impact. Snow, sand dunes, arroyos, cobblestone river beds, slick rock, hard pack, you name it. And they help build/roll in the trail. So you’re actually doing trail maintenance as you ride. Smoothing out all those skinny tire mud ruts is an extra bonus for your local singletrack. Our goal is to inspire more people getting outside and encouraging adding a fat bike to the quiver.
