MechWarrior (SNES) 01 - Starting Out

Decided to try a quick playthrough of this SNES adaptation of a PC game. Most of the game can be completed with the lightest unit. Keep enemy units out of range by using Large Laser cannons. Drop unnecessary equipment like Jump Jets to gain speed. Homing missiles are sometimes useful in item retrieval missions. Base defense is the one mission where this won’t work well. The inability to maneuver and the likelihood of enemies attacking the player means heavy armor and weapons work best.
