Didá na rua!

This is Tuesday night in Pelourinho (a neighborhood in Salvador da Bahia, Brasil.) I was enjoying a delicious al fresco dinner with a few of my drumming sisters, when a percussion group started playing about a block or two away. I decided to investigate. Little did I know that I was being drawn into the rhythms of Didá Banda Feminina, an all-women percussion group in the heart of Pelourinho. Stumbling upon them like this gave me yet another moment of pure bliss on this wonderful trip. (Those who know me won’t be surprised to learn I wept while recording this. Apparently, weeping profusely is another one of my hobbies. I’m thinking of going pro with it...)
