CHUVASH Embroidery XVIII-XX : Căn Căvaš Tĕrri

Art of embroidery of the Chuvash is very much akin to that of Bulgarians. Its symbols find themselves also in Middle Eastern, Chinese ornaments. Embroidery in old times (up until WW2) served not only as means of decoration but communicating - the style and symbols in the ornament would tell the reader about the origins, beliefs of the author.
