Introductory intertitle reads: “It’s quite a business nowadays, understanding nature - especially where artificial flowers are concerned.“ Various CUs of petals being cut from fabric by a hand operated device. “Hard metal dies stamp out the leaves and petals and impress the distinctive markings“ More C/Us of fabric petals being made. A leaf is made by stamping it inside a small press. “Dye and paste, smeared on with seeming carelessness, add their bit to the realistic whole“ - C/U of leaves being painted with dye. “Deft fingers piece together the synthetic imitation, almost as convincing as the original“ - C/U of the various pieces of the flower being linked with wire.
