LINEAGE is our attempt to resolve this paradox.
Indian classical music is a communion from heart to heart. It appeals to the innermost recesses of our psyche. It conjures up the entire spectrum of human emotions - from verbal to non-verbal, from despair to hope; from tranquility to ecstasy.
As we play or listen to music, for one fleeting, transient moment, we become one with the Whole.
If our music momentarily makes us sad and pains us, we know that it is the pain in burning of a healing potion when applied to the wound. It doesn’t exacerbate the wound; it heals it.
And during that moment, we apprehend that from sadness springs joy,
