My relationship with the Perfourmer started a while ago. I really craved this four-voice analog synth and for quite a long time it was nowhere to find. Eventually, I got lucky and snatched a b-stock unit with CV inputs.
The thing feels like a literal tank – knobs require force to turn and each button clanks like a missile launcher :) But, above all that, is the sound. This thing has everything analog subtractive synthesis is loved for. Character a bit of grit and tons of sweet spots.
For this jam, I ran it as four separate midi channels / voices mode having each channel sequenced in Octatrack. I also use Octatrack to process two of Perfourmer’s voices while the other two go straight into Mackie ProFX6 with a bit of chorus added on the mixer.
