The stump-tailed macaques are endemic to Mount Huangshan in east China’s Anhui Province. They live for generations in this habitat. In winter, they often come uninvited to the small village at the foot of the mountain for the “free crop buffet.“ When the spring comes and everything is awake, they return to dense forests in the mountains and valleys.
