The Zala Lancet drone, a type of unmanned aerial vehicle developed by ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of Russian arms company Kalashnikov Concern, is classified as a loitering munition or reconnaissance drone. It is a highly effective weapon against armored vehicles, tanks, and artillery systems, making it a crucial tool in modern warfare. The drone entered service in 2019 and was designed as a high-performance surveillance and reconnaissance platform equipped with advanced sensors and imaging technology. It can perform a wide range of tasks, from mapping and surveying to intelligence gathering and target tracking.
