How to Paint An Easy Northern Lights Landscape, loose ink watercolor tutorial Demo, Aurora Borealis

Today I’m experimenting with my Dr Ph Martins watercolour inks and Jackson’s Indian ink, painting with them wet in wet in the same way as I would use watercolour to try to create a painting of the Northern Lights AKA the Aurora Borealis (you can also follow this tutorial with ordinary watercolour paint for a more subtle effect). My board is at an angle of about 45 degrees tilt. I use various brushes, see video, but use whichever equipment and materials you are most comfortable with, but best to use old brushes as ink can damage them if you don’t wash them out thoroughly straight away. Also, make sure all surfaces are protected as the inks are a bit messy and can stain. My paper is 100% cotton Saunders Waterford, cold pressed. Thanks for watching, and happy painting!
