Sir Thomas Beecham, the greatest exponent of Delius’ music, recognized a ’distinct affinity’ between the painter Alfred Sisley and the composer Frederick Delius. Alfred Sisley was both Delius’ near neighbour in France and his fellow countryman, Sisley had taken up residence near to ’Grez-sur-Loing’ in the old walled town of ’Moret’.
