Erik Bruhn - Solo from ’The Sleeping Beauty’ (1962)
This is Erik Bruhn performing a solo from ’The Sleeping Beauty’ for television in 1962.
Looking at the footage again today I’m surprised by the level of Bruhn’s technique - there’s a general perception in some quarters that everything bloomed on this front for male dancers only after the arrival in the West of Rudolph Nureyev.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
