Several years later, after much research she published her groundbreaking book The Witchcult in Western Europe in which she made the startling claim that the Witches of Europe worshipped Baphomet ! Well, almost. As any Egyptologist would know, talk of black goats immediately suggests the myth of the famous “Goat of Mendes”, Mendes being the Greek name for Djedet in the Egyptian Delta where god Amun, “the mysterious one” was worshipped.
