Migrants stuck on Serbia’s border with Hungary

(16 Sep 2015) Hundreds of refugees and migrants were still stranded on a main highway near Serbia’s border with Hungary on Wednesday after the crossing was closed a day earlier. Hungary sealed off its border with Serbia on Tuesday and began detaining migrants trying to use the country as a gateway to western Europe. The harsh new measures left thousands of frustrated asylum-seekers piled up on the Serbian side of the border.
