Aberdeen Carolina & Western’s EMD E9A Debut!

On May 25, 2023, the Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway debuted their renovated EMD E9A locomotive (No. 103) on its inaugural journey through the Sandhills of North Carolina. ACWR 271, an EMD F-Unit trailed behind the E-Unit, and was formerly part of Norfolk Southern’s OCS. This video follows ACWR 103 from Candor to Stanfield, N.C., with a brief stop in front of Duke Energy’s Pee Dee River hydroelectric dam.
