Coming Over (1942)

Titles read: “COMING OVER - FROM OUR CAMERAMAN WITH THE AEF CONVOY“. Various locations of events. Several shots show soldiers of the American / Allied Expeditionary Force on their way to Northern Ireland on heavily guarded troopships. Female army nurses are also on the ships. A pretty nurse gives some (seasickness?) medicine to a soldier; other nurses have a nap in their bunks below decks. Brief shot of a troopship in rough weather at sea. Soldiers on deck are drenched by the sea spray. Later, the sun comes out! In Northern Ireland, we see American soldiers making snowmen that look like Hitler and Mussolini, then crushing them with their bayonets and knocking the heads off. Several shots of GIs having a snowball fight. In London, we see the US soldiers in a military canteen. Some of them toss a coin and then go sightseeing. Great shots as they ask a policeman for directions, climb over bomb rubble beside St Paul’s Cathedral, walk through the city area, arrive at Trafalgar Square in a ’peep
