Pterophyllum scalare Pinoy Ghost Angelfish

The Pinoy angelfish phenotype or variety results from the combination of the dark/black and blue traits/mutations. The dark/black trait is dominant while the blue trait is recessive. The blue trait expresses basically on the crown, back and unpaired fins. The lower two thirds of the body basically has very minimal or no blue expression. This blue “color“is a domestic mutation which is different from the blue colors expressed in wild angelfish. The domestic blue and wild blue colors can combine and produce bluer angelfish. Although the Pinoy angelfish is the combination of the dark/black and blue traits, there will be variations in overall color due to the pressence of other colors, yellow, orange and red... The Ghost phenotype refers to the complete/incomplete loss of body stripes due the heterozygous stripeless/blushing mutation.
