Sabbath Assembly at Old Nick’s Pub

Enjoy in 1080 HD. Sabbath Assembly and Christian Mistress toured together over the summer of ’15, bringing haunting melodies, boisterous songs, and damning refrains to pubs and halls across the western states. It was Tuesday, July 14th, on a pleasant July evening in Eugene, Oregon, when I bore witness to the fantastic song craft and stirring performances of Sabbath Assembly (who draw their members from a space as wide as Texas and New York). At its inception, Sabbath Assembly formed to play the hymns of the Process Church of the Final Judgment, an Apocalyptic religious sect from the late 60’s. The band currently performs and records original songs that maintain its ties to mystical theology. The quintet of Jamie Myers, Eva Vonne, David Christian, Kevin Hufnagel, Johnny DeBlase left the folks gathered at Old Nick’s Pub spellbound by their “sonic spells of misery and woe.“ I except the same will be said of anyone who watches this footage I captured that night. You have been given fair warning!
