Philipp Scharwenka - Viola "Fantasy" Sonata, Op. 106 (1899)

Ludwig Philipp Scharwenka (16 February 1847, Samter, Grand Duchy of Posen – 16 July 1917, Bad Nauheim) was a German composer and teacher of music. The opening movement movement, Moderato, is also marked Fantasia and is in very free form and includes several virtuosic recitativs. The second movement is a charming Allegretto, while the finale is a riveting Allegro.
