BUILDING SHULMAN A 600HP ON A BUDGET

In a previous video we disassembled Shulman’s 1JZ and discovered it was toast! I put together a engine recipe to meet his power goals and keep the lowest budget in mind. In this video I will show you how to put together a engine which consist of a 2JZ block with a 1JZ cylinder head. We went with a 2JZ-GE VVT-i block which is the most abundant platform in the US. Unfortunately Matt had to get a replacement 1JZ cylinder head due to his old one had lots of molten particles stuck to the combustion chamber and extremely worn cam journals due to particle contamination in the oiling system. This setup has the following parts: 2JZ-GE VVT-i block 2JZ-GTE VVT-i Pistons and Rods 1JZ-GTE Non VVT-i Cylinder head RUNBC 2JZ METAL HEADGASKET RUNBC Single Valve Springs with Steel Retainers ARP 625 head studs. Already had those in the previous engine. ARP 2000 is fine and recommended for this build. ARP 2000 MAIN STUDS ACL RACE ROD,MAIN bearings 2JZ-GTE OIL PUMP 2JZ GAT
