Asuga - Obokano - Jamhuri Day 2022 Lyres Production

Permanent Presidential Music Commission presents Obokano - a lyre from Kenya, with its cultural dance. THIS IS THE STORY OF THE OBOKANO Obokano - This is a Gusii lyre. It is an 8 stringed instrument. The strings run from the resonator to to the cross bar. The instrument is tuned through adjusting the rufia note that joins them to the cross bar. The bridge made of amasati (special sticks) is joined by Obochoe (wax) to the resonator.
