Fully restored and ready to hit local cruise nights, this awesome Dart wraps an original Magnum V8 and smooth 3-speed transmission in a striking blue and white color combination that’s guaranteed to turn heads. And at only $40K it’s the perfect way for any enthusiast to grab a cool old car and enjoy every aspect of the hobby!
BODYWORK/TRIM
Much cleaner than when it originally rolled down Chrysler’s storied assembly lines, this slick Dodge coupe has been transformed into a take-no-prisoners street warrior that consistently knocks people out at cruise nights. You won’t be staying under the radar with the car’s killer Bluefire Metallic paintwork, which has been applied over a very clean body. There are no signs of rust or rot, suggesting that body was a straight, trouble-free canvas before its metamorphosis began. Trim is factory-spec all the way. Bright white vinyl adds a bit of style and protection. Not surprisingly, panel gaps are good enough to make a traditional tail stripe line up exactly right. And overall, the car is a virtually flawless representation of timeless Detroit muscle.
ENGINE
Lift this Dart’s sculpted hood and you’ll find an original, 383 cubic inch Magnum V8 that backs a correct 2468130 casting number with a matching partial VIN. At the top of the Hemi Orange block, a clean Edelbrock 4-barrel sends wind from an Organisol-coated air cleaner in to a factory-spec intake. At the sides of that intake, attractive chrome valve covers cap correct heads and fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the front of those manifolds, a traditional points distributor sequences spark through fresh Chrysler Electronic Suppression cables. And in front of those cables, a heavy duty radiator circulates water through new hoses and old school squeeze clamps.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Take one look under this beefy MoPar and you’ll find a fully sorted chassis that’s adequately equipped to back the car’s sinister looks. A correct Chrysler A727 3-speed twists a proven rear end that’s fitted with a Sure Grip differential and road-ready, gears. That smooth drivetrain feeds a fully sorted front torsion bar and rear leaf suspension that’s shackled to factory power steering and fresh KYB Gas-a-Just shocks. Cool and confident stops are provided by manual disc and drum brakes. Exhaust rumbles through true-dual pipes, which employ traditional turbo mufflers and polished stainless tips. And at the corners of those floors, 14-inch Rallye wheels spin 205/70 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around stainless trim rings and color-keyed center caps.
INTERIOR
If you’re like us and prefer your muscle cars flashy, you’ll definitely appreciate the contrast exhibited by this Dodge’s striking blue and white interior. The car’s vivid perches are firm to the touch, featuring pliable covers that present very well. In front of that bench and bucket combo, a warp-free dash frames Chrysler’s trademark square speedometer and an old school Dart Solid State radio in broad swaths of black and stainless. Below that dash, a wood-trimmed and blue-dyed console centers a simple chrome shifter behind a factory-spec tachometer. And in front of the driver, a simple blue steering wheel laps stainless-trimmed foot pedals.
