The Blackpool illuminations is probably one of those things that Britons do or should do once in their lifetime and its even more magical if you are a child seeing it for the first time. This year its a 145 years old and still going. Easily accessible from most parts of mainland Britain and perhaps even the while of the UK, the lights dazzle and thrill people from not just the UK but abroad as well.

Blackpool Illuminations is an annual lights festival, founded in 1879 and first switched on 18 September that year, held each autumn in the British seaside resort of Blackpool on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire.
