I learned this song from Clifton Hicks, who learned it from Josh Hayes, who in turn learned it from Frank Proffitt’s recording of the song. Its a nice fun song to play that people seem to like too! Really been enjoying playing my “Minstrel” banjo as of recently.
This song has no origin in minstrel tradition, however, unlike my reproduction “Minstrel” banjo i got from Gardner’s Dulcimers.
