“It Was A Wonderful Rag ... Yes, Indeed!“ (1932)

University students parade through the streets of Cardiff on floats to raise money for charity. Full title reads: “Cardiff. ’It was a wonderful Rag ... yes, indeed!’ University students garner great harvest for charity.“ Cardiff, South Glamorgan, Wales. Decorated lorries make their way down a crowded street. The people on the lorries are wearing fancy dress. One float has a rather nasty looking scaffold on the back from which hangs an effigy of a man. Another lorry goes past with a ’Buy British’ poster on the side. Several horse drawn floats go past. A male student goes past dressed in a policeman’s helmet and wearing a skirt. More lorries go past. The themes they represent are not easy to distinguish. One of the shops the lorries drive past is holding a ’genuine clearance sale’. More lorries drive past. (Natural sound track only - No commentary) FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
