Antiquia | (motet for organ and strings) if i were an organist capable of tuning my own organ in 1670 id have sent you this for now and you wouldn’t have received it lol this is fun. its music in mixed intonation (extonation lol), feeling more contrapuntal and organ always inspires something. the really dark subminor stuff feels so machaut and dufay period interpreted and i love it. first piece to a motet set for this pairing. irregular, spectrum spacing of 18 tones out of 35 for the motet cycle. all the art is processed photographs and videos from the bogliasco residency during my stay there in march-april. it was such an inspiring place and much of the sense of this piece is connected to my experience there. #music #composition #art
