Bertha Hope 5 plays the Music of Elmo Hope

Join us for a night of music with the Bertha Hope 5 presented in partnership with the LADY GOT CHOPS Women’s History Music and Arts Festival Festival . Hope’s band will focus on the music of the often overlooked pianist and composer, Elmo Hope, with whom Bertha was married to prior to his death. BERTHA HOPE: An esteemed pianist, composer, and arranger, Bertha Hope’s career have rightfully continued to be lively even after six decades of work. Hope was raised in Los Angeles; her involvement in performing arts and music started early, as she attended Manual Arts High School then went on to study piano at Los Angeles Community College.
