Gilla: Willst du mit mir schlafen gehn? [Full Album + Bonus] (1975)
Austrian-born Gisela Wuchinger (b. Feb. 27, 1950) was discovered by Frank Farian in 1974, before Farian still had to achieve major success. He signed her up for Hansa Records and recorded her first single Kein Weg zu Weit, a cover version of Marcella Bella’s Nessuno mai. The single was released in December 1974 to little attention. Farian quickly released her second single in March 1975, a German cover version of La Belle’s Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec Moi. This was the first time such explicit lyrics had been sung on a German pop record and caused quite a stir at the time. The single peaked at #24, and Farian was given a budget to produce Gilla’s first album which was released in September, followed by her third single Tu es! literally meaning Do It! Gilla hit the German Top 10 by early 1976, just as Farian himself hit the charts with Rocky, and his other discovery Benny had a big hit with Amigo Charly Brown.
