Suusamyr is a valley 150 km long and lies between the three major ridges of the northern Tien Shan: Kyrgyz, Suusamyr-Too and Jumgal-Too. The average height of the valley is 2300 meters, and therefore even in the summer, it is cool there. In the valley there are two large rivers: Suusamyr and Zapadniy Karakol. The two rivers merge into one and form the high-water Kekemeren River .
