Mandoki Soulmates - Refugees 1989 & 2022

I saw the brutality of the Soviet Red Army in 1956 and was a refugee myself. So for me, it was a wonderful moment to see the happy faces of the East Germans as they fled their homes to their homeland. They all traveled through Hungary, relying on the courage of the Hungarians to open the borders to freedom. Today I feel very close to the refugees, who are trying to escape the cruelty of war. In these very sad, trying, and challenging times, let me embrace you and see your smiling faces, that you have succeeded. And think of the millions who have yet to make it.
