Erkin Koray, the Turkish singer-songwriter and guitarist, is also one of the major figures in Turkish psychedelic music and Anatolian Rock by the 1960’s & 70’s. Koray also has an important role in Turkish music history in terms of inventing “electric bağlama”, a traditional Turkish musical instrument, which can be heard on many of Koray’s albums with its unique sound.
Published in 1967, the pieces to be found on a 45er vinyl, namely “Kızları da Alın Askere” on one side and “Aşk Oyunu“ on the other, led to Erkin Koray achieving an important success. Especially the piece “Kızları da Alın Askere” played a vital role in Erkin Koray becoming known among a wider mass of people.
