Russia: First Easter service held in Main Cathedral of Russian Armed Forces

Mandatory Credit: Press Service of Russian Defence Ministry The first ever Orthodox Easter mass was held in the Main Cathedral of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Kubinka on Saturday. Nearly 4,000 military personnel attended the night service headed by bishop Savvatiy. Among those present were Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia Valery Gerasimov. The press service of the Russian Defence Ministry reported that the personnel who attended the mass had been vaccinated against COVID-19, and that worshippers observed the necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
