Over 260 Thais, one Singaporean and four Filipinos evacuated from Myanmar amid insurgency

Hundreds of foreigners working in Myanmar have been moved to safety as an insurgency against the military gathers pace. More than 260 Thai nationals, one Singaporean and four Filipinos have been evacuated from Laukkaing and sent to Thailand. Authorities are trying to ascertain whether any of the Thai citizens had been victims of human trafficking or involved in criminal activities. Some family members said their relatives had been tricked into working in Myanmar.
