As Benny Gantz resigns from Benjamin Netanyahu’s war cabinet, James O’Brien speaks to freelance journalist, Noga Tarnopolsky, to discuss what this could mean for Israel moving forwards. Gantz had previously threatened to resign after disagreements with Netanyahu over strategy and has now followed through in doing so. He’d joined the three-man war cabinet as a minister without portfolio in the aftermath of Hamas’s attack on October 7th. Gantz has said Netanyahu is “preventing true victory“ and “making empty promises“, adding that the country needs to take a different direction as he expects fighting in Gaza to continue for years to come.
