As I watched a scattered array of objects blistering through the atmosphere in a display of ignited chaos, I knew something had gone horrifically awry. I was the first of my crew to land since I took the emergency pod, and I fear I may be the last. After a day’s hike toward the crash site, I discovered what appeared to be the left fuel rocket of the ship’s outer hull, along with the devastating sight of my crew strewn across the valley. Was I selfish in taking the pod? Could their fates have changed if I waited? It all happened so fast. And now, it’s as though I have eternity to wonder as I sit here with no perceivable way to construct a help signal. Alone, forgotten and forlorn.
