The Mongolian Marmot

The Mongolian Marmot is sacred in Mongolian culture, both past and present. Over hunting and habitat destruction threaten the once abundant marmot population, ’The Mongolian Marmot’ tells the story of the people fighting to save one of Central Asia’s most important species. This film was Thomas Winston’s thesis film for an MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University. It was nominated for the BBC Newcomer Award at Wildscreen in Bristol, England.
