TED2: Artist Videos

Takenobu Igarashi introduces two videos by two designer/artists: “In Search of New Axis,” a video by Toshifumi Kawahara (0:35) “Maitreya,” a video by Masaki Fujihata (1:44) Due to the source material (dual video windowed laserdisc), portions of this video will be viewable but not heard. These portions can be heard on alternate videos in the “Best Of TED2“ playlist. From laserdisc jacket: TED2, the second conference of Technology Entertainment and Design, was held in February 1990 in Monterey, California. TED2 was a unique opportunity to see what the convergence of culture and technology has produced in the years since the first TED conference in 1984. As Stewart Alsop, the computer chronicler noted, “TED2 was a milestone even in the personal computer industry. I believe it will eventually rank in historical importance with the original Homebrew Computer Club meetings.“
