Heart Transplant Museum at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa, incorporating the original operating suite where the world’s first human to human heart transplant was performed on December 3, 1967 by Professor Christiaan Barnard (historical clips and images courtesy of the museum). Professor Barnard was head of the University of Cape Town’s Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
