DROMGARRIFF HALF SET from Dromgarriff, Glengarriff, West Cork.

St. Colums / Glengarriff set dancers, 2013 half set winners at the Cork County Fleadh, celebrating with coach Jerry Hurley of Dromgarriff, Glengarriff, West Cork. This half set of three figs - Fig 1, Polka; Fig 2, Slide and Fig 3, Hornpipe, was written in 1989 by myself Jerry Hurley and has been danced as both half set and full set by different groups taught by myself ever since. The following clip will show the Dromgarriff half set being danced by Glengarriff Comhaltas dancers (St. Colums) the way it was written and in the local style. This set is not from Co. Limerick as being claimed by a well known set dancing publication but from my hometown GLENGARRIFF WEST CORK. Jerry Hurley Dancers - Ann Buckley / Dermot Cronin and Susan Kingston / James Levis Musicians - Claire O’ Mahony (Accordian) and Eoghan McElhinney (Guitar)
