The sound of the SQ-80 is similar to Roland’s famous D50 synth, except with analog filters, and is often credited as being the first workstation synth along with Korg’s M1. I reached out to Synthark to have a custom programmer made for me () which opens up this synth to be the most vastly powerful synth from the 80’s I have, with three oscillators that can be panned and layered.
