Weeping Birth Interview with Vladamir Cochet (2003) [The Lunar Hypnosis Archives]

The following interview was originally conducted via email with Vladmir Cochet (all instruments) and was posted in my old ‘zine, Lunar Hypnosis on November 15th, 2003. Weeping Birth was one of many solo projects spearheaded by Swiss musician Vladimir Cochet in the late 90’s / early 00’s, alongwith Unholy Matrimony, Mirrorthrone, Accurst Journey and Defeaning Loneliness. Weeping Birth plays extremely brutal death metal mixed with the sound of symphonic black metal, which at the time of its release, sounded very unique , and possibly still is to some ears today. Weeping Birth was first conceived back in 1999 as a two-piece and a demo was recorded. In 2000 Vladimir parted ways with bassist Lionel and this album was written and recorded by just Vladimir, but not released and Weeping Birth was put on ice for a few years.
