Shanghai battered by deadly Typhoon Bebinca The most powerful storm system to strike the Chinese megapolis in over seven decades forced around 414,000 people to be evacuated from some districts as a precaution. Two people were killed in Zhoushi Town, about 31km outside Shanghai itself, after collapsed power lines electrocuted them.
