Gray Friar - Meditations (full album, 2022)

Welcome to a new edition of Dungeon Synth Sunday, and our final edition of July, where we part with our intro banner artist Henry Justice Ford, the heralder and inspiration of D&D illustrations. We open this session with a suffusing cloak of sombre, spirit-soaking ambience and an audience with the Gray Friar, for the first in a new series of contemplative monastic dungeon synth organ drones, suitably titled Meditations. The summer’s duties preoccupied the Gray Friar, whose continued work on the Abbey’s grounds offered a welcoming residence to this year’s pilgrims. The blazing summer sun, however, curtailed the extent of outdoor labor. During these periods, the Gray Friar shifted his focus to copying the Meditationes, whose author, he assumed, was the great Bonaventura de Balneoregio.
