One Hour of Zowaa Music (Assyrian Democratic Movement)

Put together this collection of songs that pay homage to the Assyrian Democratic Movement (ܙܘܥܐ ܕܝܡܘܩܪܛܝܐ ܐܬܘܪܝܐ) Formed in our homeland in 1979, Zowaa waged armed resistance against the Ba’ath regime in Iraq which was hell bent on repressing our people. To this day it carries the vast majority of support from Assyrians inside Iraq, from all of our tribes, regions and sects be they Chaldean Catholic, Syriac Catholic, Church of the East or Syriac Orthodox. In 2014 when ISIS invaded Nineveh, it was Zowaa who took up the challenge and returned to armed combat by forming the Nineveh Plain Protection Units (NPU) which guard our liberated villages to this day. This mashup has a collection of great Assyrian singers including Juliana Jendo, Emanouel Bet Younan, Jermain Tamraz, Janan Sawa and more. The last song is a video of a live performance given by Evin Agassi to Zowaa fighters in Iraq.
