He argues “pro-Palestine“ demonstrations celebrate Hamas attacking Israel, not Palestinians, starting before Israeli retaliation. Dershowitz states supporting Palestine requires opposing Hamas, which oppresses Gazans. He claims demonstrations celebrate killing Israelis, with students supporting the attacks, not seeking peace or ceasefires. Dershowitz ties campus anti-Zionism to broad anti-Americanism and rejection of Western traditions and patriotism. Regarding his book on ending Hamas, Dershowitz advocates totally destroying Hamas, disabling Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and persuading Saudi Arabia to join Abraham Accords, disincentivizing terrorism. He acknowledges civilian casualties but blames Hamas’ “dead baby strategy“ of using human shields. Dershowitz says Netanyahu failed to prevent the attacks but, as Prime Minister, will be held responsible. He sees Rep. Tlaib’s censure as complex - she abused her position lying about attacks, but censorship risks punishing speech.
