Shout out to Dynasty4507 for giving me a reason to run this again. For those not familiar with Civ4, for conquest, I must either eliminate or vassalise all other players. You can track the progress by seeing players names on the scoreboard on the bottom right get indented under my name. Eliminating is straight forward, just destroy all their cities. I did this to Spain, Greece, France and Germany by attacking their cities when they had no defenders by rushing them early. Although they start with a warrior, they use him to explore leaving their cities undefended. I get to keep Paris and Berlin because I let those cities grow to 2 population before I attack them, but Athens and Madrid both build a warrior before they grow to size 2. I defeated America by destroying all their cities. If an AI likes me enough and I am significantly stronger than they are, they may request to my be vassal (peace vassal). In this run I got Elizabeth, Russia, Arabia, Egypt and Mali as peace vassals. Then there’s people I force to be my vassals by military conquest. Basically, once they suffer enough war losses, they will agree to be my vassal to end the war. In this run I did that to Persia, India, China, Japan, the Incas, the Aztecs, and the Mongolians. Feel free to ask me anything about the run. My notes about the run: Got Elizabeth’s religion so I got her vassalised for free which made my life very easy, got Arabia for free too so that was really nice. Wish things went smoother with Tokugawa and it wasn’t my best invasion of the Americas. Late invasion of Mongolia was improvisation, hard to balance having enough knights for all of Asia and not letting the enemies get too far past archers. This is a 1 minute improvement on my (unsubmitted) PB from July 2022, which still used tanks. I was holding off submitting until I got a sub18 I was happy with.
