Modern Warfare Remastered is one of the better remastered in the last couple of years. Call of Duty 4, which came out in 2007, really shows it’s age now. The improvements in textures and lighting are really evident here, and it brings new life into this modern classic. The look and feel of the game is exactly how it should be. My only gripe is with the change in gun sounds, some guns don’t feel as powerful as they use to. This is probably just a nostalgia thing, but I don’t see why they need to change the gun sounds, especially when fans get so attached to stuff like that. Either way, it doesn’t ruin the game, and I’m sure we’ll all get use to it fairly quick. COD 4 doesn’t really have cutscenes, as the story takes place mostly through in game actions. We tried to play it more cinematically this time around. We made sure to play it slow, and stay with our squad instead of trying to be a one man army. We cut out a lot, as big chunks of the missions are just big firefights that don’t push the story forward. For that reason there might be some memorable set pieces missing, but felt that they weren’t all necessary.
