Geometric Shapes Looping Grid | After Effects Tutorial

In this video I’m going to show you how to create a looping geometric shapes grid. This is an exercise I often get students to do when they’re just starting out, as it’s good practise for learning some of the basics. It will help familiarise you with: - Basic animation timing - Animating paths - Exploring repeaters and other shape layer modifiers - Looping animations seamlessly - Experimenting with layer modes In the first part of the video I’ll show you how to create a couple of simple animated loops. This will be a step by step you can follow if you like. In the second part I’ll talk about a few of the animations in the loop, and touch on some of the techniques you might want to try for yourself. This is more about coming up with your own animation and design ideas and exploring for yourself what works and what doesn’t, but if you’re interested in specific parts of this animation you can find them by skipping through the process video below. ► Watch the full, unedited process for this animation here: =============================================================   ► Download the FREE project file: ============================================================= ► The Video Shop Long Play: ============================================================= Chapters: 0:00 - Intro 01:52 - Concentric circles animation 09:05 - Looping using time remapping 10:33 - Sliding squares animation 15:33 - Working with colour 16:01 - General tips 16:42 - Animating paths 16:52 - Experimenting with layer modes 17:10 - Shape layer modifiers 17:43 - Bonus tip ============================================================= ► Subscribe for more tutorials like this: ============================================================= ► If you have any questions just let me know in the comments. ► Find me: #aftereffectstutorial #geometric #loopinganimation #animation #motiondesign #learnmotiondesign #looping #learnanimation
