Katabasis: Descensus ad inferos (2021)

Questo film didattico è stato realizzato nel 2021 dall’Accademia Vivarium novum sotto la regia di Davide Rinaldi. Mette in scena i testi della “nekyia” o della discesa agli inferi tratti dall’Odissea, dall’Eneide e dalla Divina commedia, in lingua originale. Nelle viscere della tellus mater, della madre terra, c’è l’orrido, il tremendo; ma c’è anche il principio della luce e un ricco tesoro, Pluto o Dite. Lì le anime, che vedono ormai quel che fu, quel che è e quel che sarà, possono pronunziare, invocate, responsi oracolari sulle nostre esistenze. Lì si può trovare l’origine del fiume, che sgorga dal lago di Mnemosyne, della Memoria. Ulisse, Enea, Dante e molti altri devono scender di qui in loco eterno, dove la seconda morte ciascun grida, per poter compiere la loro missione, riconquistare il loro regno invaso da usurpatori, dare origine a un popolo e a una città che guiderà il mondo, trasumanare nella dimensione che solo Amore e Luce ha per confine. Hanno bisogno d’attirare le anime con un sangue caldo e vitale, o di superare gli ostacoli dell’entrata grazie a un ramo d’oro, o dell’intervento di donne benedette e di messi celesti: molti hanno anche la necessità d’una guida di sapienza e virtù. Perché facile è la discesa all’Averno: giorno e notte è aperta la porta del nero Dite ; ma questa è l’impresa, questa la fatica: riportare su il passo e ritornare alle superne sedi. Pochi, che il giusto Giove predilesse o che l’ardente valore portò al cielo, generati da dei, poteron questo. E i più, scendendo nell’Ade, entrando nella città dolente, andando nell’eterno dolore, devono irrimediabilmente lasciare ogni speranza. Ma l’eroe vince la morte, e risale per le praterie e i sacri boschi di Persefone alle sponde della luce… [EN] Upon descending underground, one finds a frightening and terrible world, but also a place hiding an arcane and secret wisdom, a mystery that, if unveiled, will lead one to discover “the ultimate goal of life and the principle given by Zeus“. Hidden in the bowels of tellus mater, mother earth, there is the obscure unknown and the dreadful; but there is also the beginning of light and a rich treasure: Pluto or Dite. There, the souls who now see what was, what is and what will be, will pronounce, when invoked, oracular responses on our existence. It is there that one finds the source of the river that flows from the lake Mnemosyne, the lake of Memory. Ulysses, Aeneas, Dante, and many others must descend into the eternal place, where the second death cries out, in order to fulfil their mission and reconquer their kingdom invaded by usurpers, giving rise to a people and city that will lead the world, reaching the dimension that only Love and Light has as a boundary. They will need to attract souls with warm, life-giving blood, and overcome all entrance obstacles by means of a golden branch, the intervention of blessed women, or heavenly messengers. They will also need the guidance of wisdom and virtue, because: easy is the descent to Avernus: day and night the door of black Dite lies open; but this is the undertaking, this the fatigue: to bring up the pace, and to return to the supernal seats. Few, whom the just Jove favoured, or whom ardent valour brought to heaven, generated by gods, could do this. And most, descending into Hades, entering the grievous city, going into eternal sorrow, must irremediably leave all hope behind. But the hero will conquer death, and ascend through the prairies and sacred woods of Persephone to the shores of light...
